I graduated as a midwife in 1996 with a Bachelor of Midwifery from the Otago Polytechnic, Dunedin, New Zealand.
In 2005 I relocated from New Zealand to Australia and set up my private practice. I am the mother of two great boys/young men; the eldest was born in a birth centre and the youngest at home.
Since my graduation, my midwifery experiences have included the following:
Private practice midwife in both New Zealand and Sydney.
Midwife in the birth centre, Royal Hospital for Women, Sydney.
Caseload midwife in a birth centre, New Zealand.
I believe pregnancy and birth are normal, healthy life experiences, not medical events. My practice focuses on nurturing good health, sharing knowledge and providing care that meets you and your family’s needs.
I have a holistic approach to midwifery, believing that each woman and her family have unique needs and wishes which are responded to individually and respectfully.
I am committed to ongoing professional development which includes undertaking the Australian College of Midwives Midwifery Practice Review, attending education programmes and conferences as they became available and subscribing to professional journals.
